00:00:00 - Hello, dear audience! In today's episode, we'll be going over an important topic for nowadays and virtual education. Today, we have a very special guest. Welcome, Gatti.

00:00:13 - I'm excited to have you here to discuss the importance of effective assessments and feedback in eLearning context. Let's jump right in.

00:00:22 - From your perspective, why is this topic so crucial when talking about online education?

00:00:28 - Hello, audience. Hello, Andre. Thank you for having me here.

00:00:32 - So it's a pleasure to be here discussing such a vital aspect of teaching in the digital age.

00:00:38 - Effective assessment and feedback are grounds of learning, whether it is in a physical classroom or an online setting. However, in e-learning, where the physical presence of an instructor may be limited, their role of assessment and feedback becomes even more paramount.

it is essentially our way of bridging the virtual gap between the teacher and the student.

00:01:02 - Absolutely, Gaby. Now, you mentioned effective assessment and feedback.

00:01:07 - Could you please elaborate on what constitutes effective in this context?

00:01:13 - Of course, effective assessment and feedback go together, and they should foster a student's growth and improvement. Personally, assessments should be aligned with learning objectives, ensuring that they accurately measure what students are expected to know and be able to do.

00:01:30 - Additionally, they should be varied and engaging, utilizing a wide range of technologies to provide students with diverse experiences that adjudge to different learning styles.

00:01:43 - That's a great point, Gaby. And what about feedback? What are the key elements of effective feedback in e-learning environments?

00:01:52 - Well, effective feedback should be specific and clear, providing a student with actionable insights into their performance. It should also be timely, delivered at a point when students can still act upon it to enhance their learning. Importantly, feedback should focus on the task rather than the learner, empowering students to improve without feeling personally criticized. Furthermore, it should offer learning tools or tips guiding students towards the right path.

00:02:22 - Without simply providing them with the answer and, ultimately, effective feedback should be actionable and achievable, helping students to progress towards the learning goal.

00:02:34 - Well, thank you, Gabi, for explaining those key elements.

00:02:38 - Now, as far as I know, technology offers a wealth of tools and resources that can revolutionize the way we assess and provide feedback to students. For instance, online quizzes and I don't know interactive simulations can provide immediate feedback. This allows students to measure their understanding in real time. So according to what I just said, what further information can you add or can you give us about how integrating a wide range of technologies into our teaching practice enhances assessment and feedback in e-learning contexts?

00:03:22 - Of course, Andrea, what you said was completely true. Well, in addition, platforms like video conferencing and discussion forums enable more personalized feedbacks, fostering meaningful interaction between teachers and students, despite the physical distance that exists. By embracing these technologies, we can create more dynamic and effective assessment and feedback processes that truly enhance the learning experience for all the students. Absolutely Gabby. It's evident that integrating technology into our teaching practice opens up a world of possibilities for assessment and feedback in this context of you learning. Thank you for sharing your insights with us today. Thank you Andrea and you audience for the opportunity to discuss this essential and important topic. I'm hopeful that our conversation today will inspire older educators to rethink their approaches, their approaches to assessment and feedback in the digital age. So thank you so much.

00:04:27 - Thank you Gaby and see you in the next episode, bye!
