00:01:02 - Today from Switzerland, and for the first time on this podcast, we have the hard rock band Goddard on rock classics of all time.

00:01:09 - Emotions

00:01:21 - Feelings

00:01:25 - Memories

00:01:29 - With the best songs in classical time

00:01:34 - Goddard is a Swiss hard rock band founded in the city of Lugano, and Italian culture is rooted in the region, by virtue of its proximity to the Lombardi region.

00:01:58 - The beginnings of the band were in the year 1992, and it was founded by Steve Lee and and Leo Leone. Their songs are performed in English.

00:02:08 - The group gets its name from the Goddard Pass, Gatartbus in German. This road is a mountain pass located at 2109 meters in Switzerland, between Andermatt, Uri, and Arolow, Ticino, in the Lepentine Alps, which connects the northern part of Switzerland, that speaks the German language, with the southern part of Ticino, who speaks the Italian language and the route to Milan.

00:02:34 - Anytime, Anywhere, is part of the album Lip Service, released in 2005.

00:02:39 - The band consisted of Steve Lee, deceased vocalist who died in an accident in 2010, due to a vehicle impact against a motorcycle that reached and mowed him down.

00:02:48 - His life at the age of 47. Leo Leone guitarist,

00:02:51 - Freddie Shearer guitarist, Mark Lynn Bassist and Hina Habigar drummer also recorded this album.

00:02:58 - This song has a lot of influence from bands like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Kiss from the time of Asylum and Animalize, with that superb and addictive voice of the late Steve Lee, with its crescendo until the chorus with a great accompaniment of keyboards and bass.

00:03:17 - Lip Service catapulted the band to tour the world, since in their country this album sold 2 million copies.

00:03:28 - When I first saw Steve, he was sitting behind his drums singing Child in Time, the deep purple classic, recalls Leo Leone.

00:03:35 - I was blown away by the way he sang the song, and I knew right away, this is a voice, that can take on the world.

00:03:44 - Any time anywhere, starts with a keyboard, and then a cut riff, with a set of duo guitars, and then goes into bass and drums.

00:03:51 - The lyrics of the song, are about a girl, who does not see beyond her reality, a person from high society who does not see the poverty that exists around her and the possibility that all her reality is crumble in an instant.

00:04:04 - The promotional video is very good, it is set like in a comic, in black and white, where the musicians are the protagonists.

00:04:11 - Also here, the guitarist uses in this song the well-known and effective talk box, which was used by Richie Sambora and Bone Jovey's living on prayer.

00:04:24 - Steve Lee said,

00:04:25 - Of course, David Coverdale is one of my favorite singers, but he is not my only vocal influence.

00:04:32 - For example I love listening to Steve Perry from Journey, Steven Tyler's style is impressive, but in the end my biggest influence I would be in a mix between blues and 70s hard rock, and that's where David Coverdale comes in.

00:04:45 - Of course.

00:04:46 - I don't know, I guess every musician has to start from a point, and I started from there.

00:04:51 - Also, there are singers who they get angry when they are similar, or they comment on clear influences.

00:04:57 - But it doesn't bother me of all, quite the opposite, because I consider it a compliment that someone sees a certain resemblance between my voice, or style and that of such great singers.

00:05:08 - Goddard's roots as a band have always been in bands from the 70s like Zeppelin, Purple,

00:05:12 - Whitesnake, Uriah Heap, Nazareth, Aerosmith, and it's normal that they come naturally from time to time when you're right.

makes songs all time.

00:05:50 - Know how the charm, you see the good

00:05:54 - But not the price, I wonder

00:06:00 - You turn your back on poverty

00:06:05 - You got your high society

00:06:09 - Call off your friends, you know them all

00:06:13 - You're still immune to rise and fall

00:06:17 - I'll remember, such a great return love, yeah

00:06:40 - I'll be waiting for the moment to fail

00:06:47 - No shaking hands, get in the ring Those empty words don't mean a thing

00:07:00 - The time will come, it won't be late We're slipping through the hands of fate

00:07:08 - Remember, it's such a great return, love, yeah

00:07:16 - Any time, anywhere

00:07:20 - I'll be watching you, all the things that you do
