Cassandra was born on July 27, 1973 in Tehran, Iran under the name of Judith Rumelt, the daughter of American parents. Before she was ten years old, she lived in Switzerland, England, and France. According to what she says in the books she oriented herself in reading by reading The Chronicles of Narnia and The Six Signs of Light. In her high school years, she lived in Los Angeles and New York, where she worked in various entertainment magazines. She began work on her debut novel City of Bones in 2004, inspired by the urban journey through Manhattan. This series of books had a movie in 2013, although it was not very faithful to the books and therefore the franchise was not continued, but a television series based on the books was released in 2016 under the name Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments, which was a ratings success and was renewed for a second season.

For me is an interesting develop of the main character and all is back from her. It's amazing.
